Creeping Crawler
WHAT?! I am not ready for this :> She's 7 months old and scootin around. She is slow to it and kinda rolls to a side then to the other. She is strong with her right leg but her left is kinda the gimp of the crawl. It just stay on the ground and slides... it helps her stay balanced. Derek & Uncle Aaron were the first to see this milestone! I was at RS Enrichment Tuesday night, which was a blast and I'll have pictures to show you soon... I met Derek & Jocelyn at the Jones' and what a surprise. She made her first mess there too! Papers everywhere. She crawled to a pile and spread it all around. So glad Derek could see it first.
My cousin Lori & her roomate Erin were here for a quite pit stop! They got all the fun stuff in... stroll around Laie Temple, Angel's shave ice, gourmet Subway, hee hee, beach bummin in the Northshore: Sunset, Pipeline, Sharks cove, snorkled, Haleiwa, Motomoso's shave ice. Then some culture at the Polyenesian Cultral Center Luau & night show! Pearl Harbor, Dole plantation & Waikiki to top it all off. Jocelyn loved having a slumber party! You could tell she was a little surprised to see people at our house so early in the morning! She was thrilled! ;> So they are now a hop and a skip and a jump away to Maui.
I am getting ready to go get Lolli&Pops from the airport with Jocelyn! SO EXCITED! We are sure to keep them busy. I will update you all with more excitement asap. Have a great weekend! Love you all! Talk to you soon.

The Super Star Spouse Award!

"Ladies and Gentlemen!!
The SuperStar Spouse Award goes to:
DEREK C. WILLIAMS"
If only there were a thing! I just have to take a post to brag about my husband. I don't know what bug bit him but he was on a roll yesterday! I think it was the LOVE BUG! :D
There it was, a Saturday morning. He fell asleep kind of early the night before because he was worn out from the week, and at about 8am he woke up nice and happy. He asked me if he should go to the ward farm. I said yes and in 3 mins he was gone! He was working there for a couple hours. Came home to a cute little smile from Jocelyn and he just beamed with pride. He looked at the house and said, "We have gotta take care of this! I'll do the laundry and the dishes, will you do the rest?" My eyes POPPED! Laundry & the dishes!!!! I WILL DO EVERYTHING ELSE! Those just happen to be the 2 things I really did NOT feel like doing. So, he did it. The laundry and the dishes (which were not a small task, if you know what I mean) A little over due. Meanwhile, I cleaned and organized and went through papers. We both just put our iPOD Shuffles on and let the music carry us away! Isn't it amazing how music helps every situation! I can clean so much better when I get to listen to music.
Then, we were done. It was awesome. And we were done about the same time. It really felt like teamwork. Those small and simple moments of success make the day brighter. Then, we had some friends over... the Howards and the Jones'. The kids were playing, dancing, watching Baby Signing time and doing the Diaper Dance! Also I loved how Kali & Lilli loved watching Your Baby Can Read with Jocelyn! I love how kids are just so smart and cute... the tiger would come up. "Will the tiger bite us?" :> I wanted to say no so they wouldn't be scared, but I couldn't lie either... Meanwhile, Kim & I were planning out our upcoming Enrichment Night *THIS TUESDAY @7 at the stake center and we came up with some fun stuff! :>
Derek was on a roll still and decided to cook dinner for all of us! He made delicious chicken burritos! It was just amazing and so nice to have a little brake in the action and he was so happy doing it! I was happy he was doing it... I JUST LOVED this weekend! I hope that we can do this same thing every saturday! TEAMWORK!
So, hats off to Derek for working so hard this weekend! Even after a long week of school & work. I love you so! Thanks for making my life such a joy! xoxox loves&hugs
OTHER NEWS:
-Jocelyn is 7 months old TODAY! crazy how time is flying!
-I'm sorry, but my pictures haven't been uploading, SO... I will have to try on a different computer. That is my homework this week.
"WE'LL LEAVE THE LIGHT ON FOR YOU."
-I am having VISITORS! My cousin Lori from Utah (my Mom's sisters oldest daughter) is coming with her roomate to Oahu for 2 days then over to Maui. I'm so excited that they are going to stay with us! I am actually starting to feel like I do know a few things/ places that are fun. You know, the must dos. I like that feeling. THEN the day after they leave for Maui, guess who's comin to town?!

-Lolli & Pops! My parents are coming Jan 31st! They will be staying with us for 12 days. I can't wait for them to play with Jocelyn! She is just getting to be more and more fun! Derek & I were labeling some of our video tapes and in order to figure out the blank ones, we HAD to watch them. We watched Jocelyn's birth and the weeks after, when she became more alert, the blessing day, then Thanksgiving, then CHRISTMAS! Now 7 months. It's fun to see the little changes. So funny how we get so proud over the slight differences and accomplishments they make.
- Derek got to sit with us at church today! He was released from his calling in the bishopric... which was a wonderful learning and service experience. It was just such a fun change to sit together and have him help keep Jocelyn entertained. She's reaching the point that she can't just sit still for 3 hrs. She needs to be doing, looking, licking, touching, or smiling at something.

- I have been working on a graphic design project for BYUHawaii's Intramural sports program. They asked me to create a design for the T-shirts. I was a little concerned about what he was wanting, but after clarifying I think I can do it! So I'm hoping to get that done before the visitors arrive! But we shall see.
So, if you're in our ward, I hope you come to Enrichment this Tuesday! It should be fun! Say Aloha to my cousin if you see her, and that cute couple that will be beaming with pride are Jocelyn's grandparents. We'll see you soon! xoxox p.s. I love DRock!

Look at "IT!"
So... Jocelyn is almost seven months old and she's still pretty bald! I mean, she had the handsome MAN PATCH aka Frior Tuck in the back right when she was born, but it fell out and not much has gown in. Yes, some, but not much! So we prayed fervently that she would grow some hair... and BAM! Doesn't "IT" look great! :> ha ha ha ha
Just in case you were curious how she'd look with my color hair... there she is!
Miss Beauty Queen! Isn't this just TOO funny!
Also, please note her smiley face! I realized that for a while the jawdropping smiles were because that's the face I was making at her trying to get her to smile. She was immitating ME! So I though, I should try doing a different face and see if she'll change her smile. So... not thinking about this thuroughly, I did the nose sqinting CHEEEEESE smile. And, there you have it. SHE now squints her little nose. So, hopefully I can smile "properly" and she'll get that one down!
But I find it pretty cute! She's just a blast to be with! So happy and full of smiles!
Thanks Shanae for documenting such a FUNNY new do!

Happy 49th Birthday, Daddy!
Randy Ruel Haar, They say it's your Birthday! Happy Birthday TO YOU!
MY Dad
My Daddy is my favorite pal and I help him everyday!
It's plain to see I want to be like him in everyway.
He teaches me that honesty is best in all I do.
I'm very glad that he's my dad!
And I know he loves me too!
~
Dad's Home
I'm so glad when Daddy comes home
Glad as I can be
CLAP my hands and
SHOUT for joy
and CLIMB upon his knee!
Put my arms around his neck
Hug him tight like this
Pat his cheek and give him what?
A great big CHERRY KISS!
OH HOW I LOVE:

Your future log cabin... and all your inventions! You're ALWAYS thinking of something new! You are too clever!

What a MAN! You are a splendid husband, MOM says so, a terrific father, I know so, and you serve the Lord with all your soul! You do your best in all you do! "If you're gonna do it, do it right." You work so hard and religiously even in the yard! Making things beautiful is your perfection! You are consistant and deligent! Always dependable! No matter what the task, you find a way to get it done. And you have a positive attitude: "Alls well that ends!"

You HONOR your mother! Ever since I can remember, and especially since Grandpa passed on, you have gone to Grandma Haar's and WORKED WORKED WORKED! You make sure the light bulbs are new and the sprinklers are working! You fix the air conditioning and the heating! You do it all! And most importantly you call her! You call her everyday to make sure that she is ok! You listen to what she has to say, that way she doesn't feel alone! YOU are the perfect son!
You showed me what I wanted in a spouse! You taught me how to serve. You inspired me to be a parent! If I can have as much fun as you, life with be magnificent!

I'll Cry With You Tonight...

I don't know what to say. I don't know where to begin. I hope I can express what is so heavily in my heart. I found out today that a very dear friend of mine had a miscarriage. This was a miracle in and of itself that she was pregnant. It has been a constant struggle for her to concieve. She told me just a week ago she was pregnant but she was so cautious! She made it to the 11th week. So close! She realized something could easily go wrong. This news has weighed down my heart. I ache for her. But she is not alone.
I feel overwhelmed that so many woman want to be mothers. Desire to raise children and have their joy in their lives. They want to serve a sweet little saint. But what about those that can't? Or those that constantly struggle with it? I just want to wrap my arms around them and pray they will get the chance. I have not experienced this myself, but it is in my family and I the chances are high that someday it will. My very mother struggled to have me. I am what my parents call, "Their Miracle Baby." I feel honored that I was able to be born to them! To have them raise and mentor me. I love them. Thank you, mom and dad, for not giving up! For continually trying! You never lost hope. Though at times it must have been so tough, you had the faith. And lucky for all of us, we were one of the lucky ones.
I find it interesting that babies come to those who didn't plan on it, or those that weren't quite "ready." Or so many of us wonder when the right "time" is for us to have the next one. Meanwhile, there are so many that crave that blessing. My mom told me once that while she was struggling to get pregnant, she had friends that would complain about pregnancy pains, how their children keep them up at night, how they are so tired... and mom teared up because she wished so bad that she could have those "pains" those "inconveniences." I know that those of us that have been blessed to be parents often feel sorrow for those that struggle with this, and it's only human to take children for granted. But I wanted to publicly tell you all that I am grateful. I complain of my scarred skin, my weight gain. These are my struggles from pregnancy, but Derek was right, I would do it all again in a heartbeat to have Jocelyn or another child! I am sentitive to those of you who have it hard! And I am sorry you have this trial in your life! God bless you for your strength!
I heard this song tonight as I was doing the dishes and thinking about my friends loss. I became overwhelmed... this is how she must feel. I take it she's singing to God. I wrote in the answers in hopes that my friends remembers He is close by. He is listening, and as you cry he is there with you. He will not leave you until the darkness ends! He does feel your pain. He knows you! He LOVES you!
Are you there? YES
Are you watching me? YES
As I lie here on this floor
They say you feel what I do YES
They say you're here every moment YES
Will you stay? ABSOLUTELY
Stay 'till the darkness leaves
Stay here with me OF COURSE
I know you're busy, I know I'm just one A VERY IMPORTANT ONE
But you might be the only one who sees me
The only one to save me I PROMISE I WILL
Why is it so hard? SUCH IS LIFE
Why can't you just take me? IT'S NOT TIME
I don't have much to go
Before I fade completely DON'T GIVE UP
Can you feel how cold I am? YES
Do you cry as I do? YES
Are you lonely up there all by yourself? I MISS YOU
Like I have felt all my life
The only one to save mine
How are you so strong? BECAUSE I LOVE YOU
What's it like to feel so free? LET ME SHOW YOU
Your heart is really something
Your love, a complete mystery to me UNCONDITIONAL
Are you there watching me? ALWAYS
As I lie here on this floor
Do you cry, do you cry with me? YES
Cry with me tonight OK
Are you there? ALWAYS
Are you watching me? FOREVER
I also want to share an anonymously written poem that helps me when I'm low. When I question "WHY?!"
My life is but a weaving between my God and me.
I do not choose the colors, and He worketh steadily.
Oft times he weaveth sorrow, and I, in foolish pride,
Forget he sees the upper and I the underside.
Not till the loom is silent and the shuttle cease to fly
Will God unroll the canvas and explain the reasons why
The dark threads are as needful in the skillful weaver's hands
As the threads of gold and silver in the pattern he has planned.
