Jocelyn Kaila Williams: the fun has arrived

Tuesday, June 24th I had my 38th week check up appointment and it is there they noticed my blood pressure was too high. So Dr. Shimizu sent me to the hospital for a 2 part induction.

We arrived with great anticipation. She started me on cytotek which is for ulsars, but the side effect causes contractions. That's what we were going for. Then, the next morning we started patossum. Contractions came, more effaced, my water broke, but not dropping... still -2 station. Got the epidural as pain increased-she was posterior! Back labor wasn't being dulled by the epidural... then since she still wouldn't drop they decided it was necessary to do a c-section!

C-section time: I didn't get numb enough on my right side, so they had to put me completely under. So, Derek didn't get to be in the room but he was the first to see her! Then, Grandma and Pa got to help also and get her weight, 6lbs 15.7 oz - 20 inches long, footprints and a bath.


We thought she had curly brown hair but once it was washed it seems pretty straight... we shall see.

We, to say the least, are so excited and THRILLED she's here! Better out than in! She's addicting to hold and kiss! She is so beautiful! She's looking forward to a birthday right after her cousin, Andrew's! And she shared a birthday with her great uncle Kurt! So happy. We will be in our CASTLE hospital til Saturday and all is going well. We're both tired and mommy's tummy is sore, but still smiling from ear to ear! Thank you for all your prayers and calls of congratulations! We love you and can't wait to show her off as often as possible! We're photo happy and plan to keep posting photos we we get a chance... come check us out! LOVE YOU

Baby steps... here we go!

THIS JUST IN:

1 centimeter dilated
40% effaced
and -2 station!!!!!!!

Prego lingo. Translation... we're beginning to begin! My doctor still predicts I'll be quite close to my due date (July 2nd) but feels I will come a little early. I haven't had contractions... just Braxton Hicks, but they are having an effect! This is all good... I was afraid that my cervix wouldn't be ready and that labor would take extra long because I've never given birth, but the fact that I'm about 40% effaced is a good sign that my cervix is going to cooperate-so I'm told. ;) Ready or not!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am pleased to announce Derek's success story! He SOLD the Jeep! YAY! It was fabulous! I'm so proud and impressed! He got the Jeep for quite cheap and fixed up some of the under-the-hood problems and turned it around and sold it within 2 months. He had it posted on Craigslist for 2-3 weeks and the second caller came and took it away last night! This guy was really interested in how it ran, which it runs "like a champ!" He plans to put new tires and rims on it... paint it and totally fix it up! It sounds like a hobby of his! He was so excited to have a new toy! So ladies, sometimes it is good to let your hubby try somethin crazy out! So, I'm sorry to any of you that were EYE-in' her, Myrtle the Jeep, she's TAKEN! :)

*Not to mention this sale is paying for next semesters tuition! Another pat on Derek's back!!!

Who needs bread? Who needs jam? The only thing that can improve this delicious creation, CHOCOLATE! We usually get ADAM's natural pb but Derek saw this one: being bigger and cheaper, he snagged it! Man am I glad he did! It's so good! I could eat it by the spoonful! Since I have a limited selection of food to combine with it, sugar free chocolate and vanilla pudding has been the newest combo. Pretty yummy! I just thought I'd share one of my cravings... :) Buy this. It is mmmmmm good!
